Everything should be done on time. Sometimes postponement can spoil person’s reputation and even make him lose the trust of other people.

Danforth is very concerned about his reputation. He even doesn’t care about the death of innocent people. He is elfish and thinks only about his own good.

Miller wants us to see how this character really is. In this case, an honest person that doesn’t fear any consequences.

He reveals that he doesn’t like to play along with anybody’s games and doesn’t need help from anyone.

In this quote, John Procter is speaking to Elizabeth. Proctor is telling Elizabeth that he will do whatever he needs to do

Miller wants us to think about how there are times in your life where you must repent for you sins and pay a price before you can feel at ease with yourself.

This quote is significant because it shows that Proctor has made up his mind and will not give them his name, meaning he is going to hang. He finally sees some good in himself.

This quote is from Proctor to Hale after he just confessed and ripped up the confession paper.

Danforth is talking to Parris and Hale. Hale wants Danforth to postpone the hanging to get more people to confess. The significance of this quote is that Danforth doesn’t want to be wrong.

Danforth is not sure if postponement in an option because 12 people have already been executed and the village expects 7 more people to die.

miller is trying to tell us that we should be thankful for everything we have. elizabeth as an example had been really suspicious about Proctor. we should have trust and we shouldnt hold a grudge to anyone especially the ones we love the most.

Sins have been tormenting proctor and he is unable to allow a second sin to overcome his life. able to rekindle lost love. does not blame him for arrair.

Elizabeth is talkin to proctor, the significance of this quote is that elizabeth finally realizes how to explain her love to him. she finally realizes that she is a naturally suspicious person and how cold she has treated him.

The only people that can judge you is yourself and God because if someone judges you it doesn’t count because they don’t know you.

This reveals that Elizabeth isn’t judgemental and she is very religious because she mentions God.

Elizabeth is saying this to Hathorne and Proctor and they are talking about Proctor’s execution.

Miller wants us to know that people with strong convictions stick to what they believe no matter what, whether or not he will die.

Proctor wants Rebecca to “go like a saint” for he’s the guilty one.

The second part of the quote explains that John Proctor doesn’t want to lie and be like the rest. John Proctor doesn’t feel what Puritans are doing with bad people. He wants to die leaving a bad note to himself.

Proctor speaking to Elizabeth before Proctor is to be executed.
